  • ARC Renewable Energy, LLC

Is a distributer of innovative “magnetic” vertical axis wind turbines (MVAWT), called the Enviro Energies Turbine. This is a roof-mounted wind turbine (used for generating electricity) that spins around a vertical axis like a merry-go-round instead of like a windmill, as do more traditional horizontal axis wind turbines (HAWTs). This exciting new product line offer never before seen power generation, reliability and price.
  • Lightweight, Inexpensive and High Performance Wind Turbine

The inventors designed a wind turbine that is light in weight; easy to install upon a flat or peaked rooftop; has robust interaction with weather; is capable of effectively using wind blowing from all sides simultaneously—even from above; generates electricity even in low-speed winds; is inexpensive to manufacture; and since it is magnetically-levitated is quiet in operation; seldom needs replacement of bearings; has very little spinning resistance; and since it has curved vanes, is graceful in shape and attractive to the eye of the beholder.
  • A better "mouse trap"

The VAWT type of wind turbine design (as known to previous generations) had a number of technical hurdles for developers to overcome before that type of wind turbine could be viable for widespread use. The Sandia Labs of the US Department of Energy (DOE) had researched VAWT designs for years and had identified 11 core problems with trying to build an effective VAWT. This left many engineers with the impression that it would be impossible to design a viable VAWT. The inventors (James Rowan and Thomas Priest-Brown) used these problems as their guideposts in creating the magnetically-levitated Enviro Energies Turbine™.
